DON'T DROP THAT DUN DUNUN

I am a Psychology major who wants to be a doctor, but doesn't have enough drive to work on being one.
If being a doctor doesn't work, I'm going to be an astronaut/some kind of artist.

This blog primarily consists of reblogs and commentary with an occasional original post about mah lyfe.

Creepy: Texas is rolling out a plan to have all students wear tracking devices located in their student IDs at all times. In one of the first school districts to adopt the plan, school officials have "threatened to suspend, fine or involuntarily transfer students who fail to comply" -- and they're already barring them from voting for homecoming court.

Creepier:

In California, the Anaheim Union High School District is also in the midst of testing a GPS tracking program. From Salon:

Each school day, the delinquent students get an automated “wake-up” phone call reminding them that they need to get to school on time. In addition, five times a day they are required to enter a code that tracks their locations: as they leave for school, when they arrive at school, at lunchtime, when they leave school and at 8pm. These students are also assigned an adult “coach” who calls them at least three times a week to see how they are doing and help them find effective ways to make sure they get to school.

I get there are attendance problems in public schools but this solution is NOT OKAY.

yeah this is just going to make students not want to come to school even more…
